Strike shortened season. Teams generally played 102-110 games. Playoffs featured the division winners of each half season (before strike, after strike) and an extra tier to the playoffs including a Division Series. Los Angeles Dodgers won the 1981 WS. Cincinnati Reds had the best record in baseball but failed to qualify for the post season by not leading the NL West in either half.
