Carroll Yerkes pitched five seasons in the majors, although the total was only 25 games. In that time, he appeared on two pennant-winning teams, the 1929 Philadelphia Athletics, for whom he pitched 19 games, and the 1932 Chicago Cubs, for whom he pitched 2 games.
Yerkes played in Portland prior to his major league days, and in Oakland after his time with the Athletics. After baseball he worked as a salesman.
