Carolina Association

The Carolina Association was a class D league from 1908 through 1912. In 1913 the loop dropped the 3 teams from South Carolina in favor of 3 more North Carolina teams and renamed itself the North Carolina State League. Interestingly, the league consisted of the same 6 cities for the entire 5 year run, which is unusual for a class D league, especially that early in the century.
