Brother of Camilo Pascual, Carlos Pascual pitched well in his two outings in the majors in 1950. His ERA in 17 innings was just 2.12, and he gave up only 12 hits. He was only 19 years old. On the other hand, he was a bit wild, with 8 walks.
Pascual was one of six pitchers of Cuban background who came up to the 1950 Washington Senators.
In 1998 he was named to the Cuban Baseball Hall of Fame.
Pascual was signed in 1949, made his major league appearances in 1950, and in December 1952 was drafted by Seattle. He was very successful in the Serie del Caribe, winning two games in the Serie three different times. In 1960 he played for Cienfuegos. In 1967 a Venezuelan baseball card showed him with Aragua.
Later he managed in Venezuela and won championships in 1969-70.
Pascual scouted for the Minnesota Twins (1963-1977), Baltimore Orioles (1978-1981), and New York Mets (1982-?).
