[edit] Biographical Information
Cousin of the more famous Sixto Lezcano, Carlos Lezcano could never match his relative's success. The Chicago Cubs' opening day center fielder in 1980, Lezcano played only 42 games that season, hitting .205. He was gone after a handful of appearances in 1981.
Carlos played in the minors from 1977-84, hitting .326 for Midland in 1979. He showed moderate power with a high of 19 home runs for Wichita in 1980.
Lezcano has now managed for three different organizations in the Arizona League in a minor league managing career that is getting close to 20 years.
