5-time NBA All-Star guard Carl Braun played briefly for the Sunbury Yankees and Amsterdam Rugmakers in 1947 and then went 2-3 with a 6.60 ERA for the 1948 Rugmakers. With pitching clearly not in his career interests, he became a full-time basketball player.
