[edit] Biographical Information

Carl Boles did quite well in his cup of coffee in the majors in 1962 with the 1962 San Francisco Giants. In 19 games, he hit .375.

The Giants won the pennant, but Boles did not appear in the 1962 World Series.

Boles was trying to find a spot in the outfield on a team that had Willie Mays, Harvey Kuenn, and Felipe Alou as regular outfielders. Others on the team looking for playing time included Willie McCovey, Matty Alou, and Manny Mota. It was a very tough time to be looking for a spot in the outfield.

He played for the Springfield Giants in 1960-61.

Carl later played in Japan and hit 117 Home Runs in the Land of the Rising Sun.
