[edit] Biographical Information

Butch Henry was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 15th round of the 1987 amateur draft. After being traded to the Houston Astros, he made his big league debut in 1992. Less than a month after reaching the majors, he hit the only home run of his big league career, an inside-the-park homer off Doug Drabek of the Pittsburgh Pirates on May 8th (as of 2007, he was the last pitcher to hit an inside-the-park home run).

Henry was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 1992 expansion draft and later played for the Montreal Expos, Boston Red Sox, and Seattle Mariners. He retired as a player in 2003 due to arm troubles.

After his playing days, Henry was a coach for the Sarasota Reds in 2004 and was pitching coach of the Billings Mustangs in 2005. From 2007 to 2010, he was the manager of the El Paso Diablos of the independent American Association.
