Buddy Blair was a star athlete at Louisiana State University as a member of their 1933 national champion track team and their 1935 national champion baseball team. He played one season with the Philadelphia Athletics before serving in World War II. After the war, he managed the Vicksburg Billies of the Southeastern League for five years. He also founded the Little League program in Monroe, Louisiana. Blair died of a heart attack at age 85.
