 Biographical Information
Bud Tinning, who pitched four seasons in the majors, had his best season as a rookie for the 1932 Chicago Cubs who won the pennant. Tinning's 2.80 ERA was one of the best on a staff whose team ERA was 3.44. The next year he went 13-6, but his ERA wasn't as impressive.
He was 10 years younger than his manager for the first part of the 1932 season, Rogers Hornsby.
His 1934 Goudey baseball card calls him "Lyle Tinning". Baseball Card.
