Bryan Berglund was a top draft pick in 2009.
Berglund was born in Sweden and moved to California when he was 11 years old. He hit .410/.531/.538 as a high school junior and went 4-1 with a 1.26 ERA. In his senior year, he batted .328/.453/.525 and had a 5-2, 1.51 record with two saves. With a fastball peaking at 93 mph at the time, he was chosen in the second round of the 2009 amateur draft by the Florida Marlins. He signed in mid-August. He also was put on Sweden's preliminary 40-man roster for the 2009 Baseball World Cup.
