[edit] Biographical Information
Bruno Betzel came to the majors at age 19 and stayed with the St. Louis Cardinals for five seasons. He was the team's regular third baseman in 1915 and the regular second baseman in 1916.
He played in the Appalachian League in 1912-13 and in the American Association from 1918-29.
Managed in the minor leagues for 26 years between 1927-1956, compiling a record of 1887-1892. He managed in the minor league organizations of the Brooklyn Dodgers (1936-1937, 1941-1945), New York Yankees (1938-1940), New York Giants (1946-1948), and Cincinnati Reds (1950). In 1957 he was elected to the International League Hall of Fame.
