Bruce Boisclair played five seasons in the majors, accumulating over 1,000 at-bats. He was with the Mets all five seasons.
Boisclair was drafted in the 20th round in 1970 and played in the rookie league at Marion that summer, at the age of 17. In 1972 he was at Visalia, hitting .348. After a season at Tidewater in 1974, he came up to the majors.
He made his major league debut in the 23rd inning on September 11, 1974, as a pinch runner for Duffy Dyer.
He spent 1975 back at Tidewater and then came up from good in 1976. He was a frequently-used fourth outfielder in 1976, 1977 and 1978, hitting .287, .293 and .224. He finished out his major league career in 1979 as the sixth outfielder.
Boisclair was involved in a contract dispute with the Hanshin Tigers and the New York Mets after he joined Hanshin.
