Brown Taylor

Brown Taylor was a minor league first baseman. In his short stay with the Hawaii Islanders, he was involved in an infamous play in which teammate Stan Palys purposely allowed himself to be hit by Taylor's ground ball, thereby being called out but awarding Taylor a hit. This broke up a no-hitter by Spokane pitcher Bob Radovich. The president of the Pacific Coast League was in the stands and overruled the scorer, declaring the play a fielder's choice which awarded a no-hit victory to Radovich.
