Catcher Brook Fordyce played ten seasons in the major leagues. In the middle of his career in the majors he hit for a good average, with a .297 in 1999 and .301 in 2000.
Fordyce was never in post-season play, although for part of 2000 he was on the 2000 White Sox who went on to win the division - until he was traded in July.
Brook came close to death in January 2002 when an artery burst and sent five pints of blood into his stomach.
He currently owns and operates a baseball training center in Stuart, FL.
