Brian Tracy

The grandson of Jim Tracy Sr., son of Jim Tracy and brother of Chad Tracy and Mark Tracy, Brian Tracy was twice picked by organizations his father managed.

Tracy was taken by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 21st round of the 2002 amateur draft but did not sign. He was redshirted in 2003 and was 2-1 with a 6.45 ERA in 2004. In 2005, Brian was 2-3 with a 7.22 ERA and followed with a 1-5, 5.18 record in 2006. In 2007, he went 1-3 with a 5.03 ERA. The Pittsburgh Pirates took him in the 20th round of the 2007 amateur draft.

Tracy debuted on June 22 against the Jamestown Jammers, allowing one run in three innings of relief. He allowed three hits and walked three while striking out one in a no-decision. Tracy went 3-2 with a 4.37 ERA, walking 14 in 22 2/3 innings while allowing 26 hits for the 2007 State College Spikes.

Tracy was hired as the the State College Spikes pitching coach for 2008. He became a Pirates scout after that season.
