[edit] Biographical Information
Catcher Brian Poldberg played in the New York Yankees and Kansas City Royals farm systems. He caught for the Greensboro Hornets (1980), Nashville Sounds (1981-1982), and Omaha Royals (1983-1985).
Since his playing career ended, Poldberg has been a minor league coach and manager in the Royals system. He was a coach for the Appleton Foxes in 1987, then managed from 1988 to 1996, except 1991 when he was the hitting coach for Omaha and 1993. In 1993 and from 1997 to 2003, Poldberg was the Royals' minor league catching instructor.
Poldberg was the Royals' bullpen coach in 2004-2005, 1st base coach in 2006, and was the 3rd base coach in 2007. After the 2007 season he was taken off the coaching staff and named the manager of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.
