Outfielder Brian Manning was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 9th round of the 1996 amateur draft. The next summer, he was traded to the Chicago White Sox in a nine player deal known as the "White Flag Trade". He was the only one of the six prospects acquired by the Sox to never reach the majors.
