Pitcher Brian Griffiths was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 9th round of the 1988 amateur draft. Shortly after the 1993 expansion draft, he was packaged with Hector Carrasco and sent to the Florida Marlins for Tom Edens who the Marlins had just selected in the expansion draft. Griffiths pitched in the San Francisco Giants chain in 1993 (possibly on loan as the Marlins had no AA team), but never made the majors.
