The Brazilian national team has made it to the Intercontinental Cup twice. In the 2005 Baseball World Cup, they went 2-6 and tied for 14th among the 18 competitors.

On May 17, 2012, 3B Yan Gomes became the first Brazilian to play in the major leagues.
