Branson is a city in Taney County, Missouri with a population of 6,050 at the 2000 census. It is about 15 miles south of Springfield, MO. The city is best known as a "family-friendly Las Vegas" with numerous shows and attractions and a neon-lighted "strip" downtown. Earl Pruess died here.
