Biographical Information
Brandon Knight was drafted in 1994 by the Colorado Rockies as a second baseman, then in 1995 as a pitcher. He was recalled from the Triple-A New Orleans Zephyrs on July 26, 2008 by the New York Mets and returned to the majors almost six years after his last appearance.
Knight was 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA in the 2008 Olympics, pitching for Team USA, which won the bronze medal. He struggled in a loss against the South Korean national team and had a solid outing in a victory over Taiwan.
Knight went 6-2 with a 3.56 ERA for the Samsung Lions in the 2009 KBO season, being their most effective starter. He replaced Runelvys Hernández on the roster in July.
