Braden Looper was solely a reliever for his first nine years in the majors, but converted to a starter in 2007. In each of 2007 and 2008 he won 12 games. As a reliever he has saved 103 games.
He won a bronze medal for the United States at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
His uncle, Benny Looper, is a former minor league player and current Seattle Mariners executive. His cousin is Aaron Looper.
