Brad Daniel Dutton

Brad Dutton has played in Australia and the USA and will play in Germany in 2009.

Dutton debuted in the Claxton Shield in 2003 with the Queensland Rams, hitting .333/.379/.333 as their main second baseman. In 2004, he batted .325/.371/.381 for Creighton University in the USA. He improved to .335/.377/.459 in his second season at Creighton. He starred in the 2006 Claxton Shield, going 15 for 28 for Queensland with 3 doubles, a triple, home run, 7 runs, 9 RBI and 2 steals in 6 games, winning MVP honors.

In 2006, he played for the Rockford RiverHawks in the Frontier League and hit .217/.269/.286. In the 2007 Claxton Shield, Brad hit .292/.292/.333 for Queensland. He returned to Rockford for the summer and batted .288/.370/.384 with 54 runs and 20 steals (in 26 tries) in 83 games.

For the 2008 Rams, Dutton hit .310/.420/.429 with 13 runs in 12 games and stole 4 bases in 4 tries. He played for Australia in the 2008 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament, replacing a fellow Brad, Brad Harman at shortstop, as Harman was busy at spring training. Dutton was just 2 for 19 for Australia and had more errors (3) than hits (2) as Australia failed to qualify for the 2008 Olympics.

Dutton returned to Rockford for a third season in 2008 and batted .311/.357/.408, just missing the top 10 in the FL in average. For 2009, Brad signed with the Gauting Indians in Germany. He debuted in the Bundesliga on April 5, going 4 for 8 with a run, double, 2 RBI and a steal and making one error.
