The first of many Boise, ID teams in the Northwest League was the 1975 edition of the Boise A's. Manager Tom Trebelhorn guided the Oakland A's farm team to a 39-39 record, last in the three-team southern division. Their 29,286 attendance was third. Brian Kingman (4-6, 3.89) went on to perhaps the best career from the team, though they were led by two All-Stars - SS Darrell Woodard (.313/~.409/.354, 22 SB) and DH Michael Rodriguez (.303/~.437/.559, tied for second in the NWL in homers) and the top averages were posted by C Gary Medeiros (.338/~.430, .371, third in average) and OF Monte Bothwell (.317/~.433/.511).
Boise tied for last in attendance in their second season (16,294) and went 33-38, third in the four-team southern division. Trebelhorn's team scored the most runs (497) but also allowed the most (535). OF Ron McNeely (.403/~.481/.484) led the league in average and was joined on the All-Star team by Rodriguez (.358/~.454/.700, a league-high 12 HR in just 120 AB). One of McNeely's outfield mates had a far better career than either man, though - making his pro debut was Rickey Henderson; Rickey hit .336/~.469/.521 and stole 29 bases in 36 tries.
Boise did not return in 1977.
