Bobo Osborne is the answer to the question "who is the only other major league player who appeared at first base for the 1961 Tigers in the year that Norm Cash hit .361 and slugged .662?" Osborne, who played most of his major league games at first base, had been with the Tigers prior to the time Cash came over from the Chicago White Sox. Bobo, although he always had a low batting average, showed moderate power and drew lots of walks.

In his last major league season, he was the regular first baseman for the 1963 Washington Senators, playing alongside 37-year-old Minnie Minoso as well as future managers Chuck Cottier and Don Zimmer.

Osborne, who played six seasons in the majors, had 190 home runs in the minors. His peak was 34 home runs for Denver in 1960.
