Was acquired by the New York Mets after the Mets lost franchise player Darryl Strawberry to free agency.
On October 8, 2000, threw a complete game 1-hit shutout to clinch the NLDS for the Mets over the Giants.
Bobby Jones was the losing pitcher in rookie Bud Smith's no-hitter on September 3, 2001.
