[edit] Biographical Information
After winning 28 games for Stockton in 1954, Bob Thorpe earned a call-up to the major leagues the following season. He spent 1956-1957 in the Pacific Coast League, then was drafted in the 1957 Rule V Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Thorpe didn't pitch in 1958 and made just 4 appearances in the South Atlantic League in 1959 before retiring from baseball due to developing arm trouble.
Thorpe died in an electrical accident while working as an apprentice electrician.
