Bob Stevens

Bob Stevens was a baseball writer for the San Francisco Chronicle. He covered PCL games for the Chronicle from 1936 to 1957. For 17 seasons, he was the Chronicle's beat writer for the San Francisco Seals. When the Giants moved to San Francisco, he began a 21 season run on the Giants beat.
After retiring from the paper in 1978, Stevens was an official scorer until the 2001 season.
The press box at 3Com Park was named for Stevens when the park opened in 1998. In that same year, he was awarded the J.G. Taylor Spink Award for his contributions to baseball in the media.
