Robert E. Quinn Sr.

The grandson of Bob Quinn, son of John Quinn, brother of John Quinn Jr., Susan Quinn and Margo Quinn, brother-in-law of Roland Hemond, and the father of Bob Quinn, Bob Quinn was general manager of the Eau Claire Braves in 1959-1960, the third generation of the family to work in the Braves organization. He was named Minor League Executive of the Year for AA teams in 1967 by The Sporting News after his Reading Phillies led the Eastern League in attendance despite 14 games cancelled due to rain or rescheduled as part of double-headers. As John Jr. had won the award in 1962 and 1966, this made them the first siblings to both receive the honor. (Source: 1968 Baseball Guide)

Quinn later served as farm director of the Milwaukee Brewers in 1971-1973 before spending more than a decade as the Cleveland Indians scouting director (1973-1983). Quinn was also the Indians' director of player development in 1985. He joined the New York Yankees organization as assistant GM in 1987 and was promoted to General Manager in May 1988. He resigned after the 1989 season to become GM of the Cincinnati Reds. After the 1992 season, he moved on to the San Francisco Giants. After serving as the GM of the Giants from 1993 through the 1996 season, he remained with the team through 2005 as a special advisor to the club and coordinating the Clubs spring training activities in Scottsdale Arizona.
