Bob Koopmann went 19-28 in the minor leagues, pitching for the Pittsburgh Pirates system from 1985 to 1987. He went back to school after his career ended and got a degree in Physical Education.
Koopmann was head coach at Illinois Valley Community College for 7 years, Ashford University for 2 years and Rockford College. Koopmann has also managed and coached for the Rockford RiverHawks.
