Although a Canadian, Bob Hooper served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He pitched six years for the Philadelphia Athletics, Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Redlegs and another 10 years in the minor leagues. He was a physical education teacher at New Brunswick, NJ until his retirement in 1979. He died at age 57 from a heart attack in his home.
Hooper managed in the Baltimore Orioles chain from 1957 to 1960 and scouted for the New York Mets in 1963.
