Bob Hasty was a major league baseball player for 5 seasons with the Philadelphia Athletics. He then went to California and played in the Pacific Coast League for 4 seasons. In the late 1920's he returned to the south and played for 3 years for the Birmingham Barons, then a season for the Atlanta Crackers. In the early 1930's he started playing for company teams, and he played for many different company teams until the start of World War II. He continued to sometimes coach baseball teams until he was in his 50's. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and a member of the Braves 400 club until his death in 1972.
