[edit] Biographical Information

In addition to two seasons in the majors as an above-average hitter, Bob Glenalvin managed a couple teams in Portland. In 1891, his Portland team in the Pacific Northwest League won the pennant, and in 1896 his Portland team in the New Pacific League was in first place when the league folded. Bob also had the highest batting average in the league at the time.

He managed Los Angeles in 1892 (at the time in the California League) and Detroit in 1894 (in the Western League).
