Bob Black was a two-way player for the 1884 Kansas City Cowboys, appearing in 19 games in the outfield, 16 at pitcher, 6 at second base and one at shortstop.
He was one of the strongest hitters on the team, leading the players with 14 doubles (no regular position player had more than 7).
After his major league days he played several seasons for Memphis, continuing as a two-way player.
