[edit] Biographical Information
The most recent of four men named "Bob Allen" to play in the major leagues, "Thin Man" Bob Allen pitched in 3 games for the 1937 Philadelphia Phillies. He had been purchased from the Chicago Cubs organization.
He was presumably named "Thin Man" because he was 6 ' 1 " and 165 lbs., and because the movie "The Thin Man" had come out in 1934 and its sequel "After The Thin Man" had come out in 1936.
