The article that shows Steele as a boxer and an ice skating instructor.

According to a newspaper article, [1], Steele was nicknamed "Moose" by his St. Louis teammates. The same article says he was born in Montreal on March 29, 1894 and played in the Western Canadian minor leagues; in Moose Jaw, SK in the Twilight League, then went to Victoria in the Northwestern League. He was purchased by St. Louis in 1914 and went to their farm club in St. Paul. He was also a boxer and an ice skating instructor per the article. It does confirm he was 5' 10 1/2" and 175lbs.
