Boanerges Espinoza has sometimes pitched for the Nicaraguan national team. In the 2003 Baseball World Cup, Espinoza allowed 6 hits and 4 runs in 3 innings to post Nicaragua's second-highest ERA. During the 2006 COPABE Olympic Qualifiers, the right-hander gave up two runs in two innings but struck out four. He is with Nicaragua for the 2009 Baseball World Cup.
