Billy Murray managed 18 years in the minor leagues from 1889-1906, the last 13 in the Eastern League. His teams compiled a record of 1234-876. He then managed the Philadelphia Phillies from 1907-1909, with a record of 240-214.
In the minors, Murray guided the 1890-1891 Quincy Ravens, 1892 Joliet Stone Citys, 1893 Atlanta Windjammers, 1894-1901 Providence Clamdiggers, 1902 Providence Grays and 1903-1906 Jersey City Skeeters.
