- Drafted in 1980 Amateur draft, made his debut 14 years later. Despite having good stuff, he languished in several minor league farm systems, especially the Atlanta Braves' farm system of the early 1990s. The Braves of that era were perenially involved in tight pennant races and were simply too pitching-rich at the major league level to make room for hard-throwing but otherwise unproven minor league talent.
