Billy Holm was a catcher with good defensive skills who didn't hit enough to stick in the majors. He played on two top minor league teams, the 1938 Newark Bears and the 1943 Los Angeles Angels, hitting .292 for the Angels in 1943. With the Bears in 1938 he also played 16 games at shortstop.

He played for Norfolk in 1937, was with the Angels in 1940-41, with Tulsa in 1942, and Portland in 1946-47. He then coached and managed in the minors.
