Bill Zepp pitched three seasons in the majors, most notably with the 1970 Minnesota Twins when he went 9-4. He also appeared briefly in two post-season games that year.
Zepp was born in Detroit, MI and went to high school in Detroit. He attended the University of Michigan in 1965-67, his time there overlapping with that of Ted Sizemore, Bob Reed, Geoff Zahn and Glenn Redmon. In 1968 he was signed by the Minnesota Twins.
1969 was a big year for Bill as he went 18-4, split between two teams in the Minnesota organization.
During three seasons in the minors, his career minor league ERA was 2.65.
The book The Detroit Tigers: Club and Community, 1945-95 has a quote from Zepp saying that he suffered a Tommy John injury. He decided to retire rather than risk further injury.
