[edit] Biographical Information
Bill Edgerton pitched three seasons in the majors. He was with the Kansas City Athletics during their last two years in Kansas City before moving to Oakland, and he was with the 1969 Seattle Pilots during their only year in Seattle before moving to Milwaukee.
Although originally signed by the New York Mets, Bill pitched for half a season in the minors and then was acquired by Kansas City, in whose organization he spent the rest of 1963 and 1964-67. He went 13-11 for Lewiston in 1964 (and hit three homers for the team) and 17-4 for Mobile in 1966.
In 1968-69 he pitched in the minors in the organizations of the Philadelphia Phillies, the California Angels, and the Baltimore Orioles. He was also with Vancouver, which seems to have been unaffiliated that year although full of former/future major leaguers. He became primarily a reliever in 1968.
In 1970-71 he pitched in the organizations of the Milwaukee Brewers and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
After baseball he worked at a manufacturing plant in his hometown of South Bend, IN.
