Bill Dailey pitched in excellent fashion for the first three of his four major league seasons. After good performances in 1961-63, he had arm pain in 1964 and his major league career soon ended.
Dailey was a star at a young age, leading the 1955 Three-I League in ERA with a 2.52. Teammate Mudcat Grant went 19-3 while Dailey went 17-4.
He played for Sherbrooke in 1953.
With the Twins, he was four years older than Jim Kaat and Tony Oliva, and one year older than Harmon Killebrew.
