[edit] Biographical Information

Father of Bill Crouch, Bill "Skip" Crouch pitched eight innings in one game for the 1910 St. Louis Browns, who lost 107 games that year. Crouch's ERA at 3.38 was actually close to the team ERA of 3.09 but a bit above the league ERA of 2.52.

Crouch had been pitching for a company team, and in his one major league appearance opposed Walter Johnson. After eight innings, the game was halted at 4-4 due to rain.

His son, pitching in the National League, had a longer career, going 8-5 over three years in the majors.

Father and son are two of the four major league players (through 2007) with the last name Crouch.
