[edit] Biographical Information
Bill Cox pitched in 50 games for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Browns from 1936 to 1940. He then served in Germany in the U.S. Army during World War II (BN). After his baseball career, he was a basketball official and officiated for the Harlem Globetrotters in 1954. He later entered politics and served as the Coles County (Illinois) Treasurer, Sheriff, as well as Minority Whip of the Illinois General Assembly.
