[edit] Biographical Information

Bill Clymer played only one season in the major leagues (at age 17) but went on to be a long-time minor league manager. Although The Sporting Life predicted in 1907 that he would manage the 1908 Boston Red Sox, he never became a major league manager.

He first managed in the minors for two weeks in 1898, before turning 25. He managed his last game in July of 1932. In between his teams went 2,122-1,762 over 29 years.

Clymer was also a Cincinnati Reds coach in 1925.

He is apparently not related to Otis Clymer, who was born a couple years after Bill in Pennsylvania and who also played in the majors.
