Bill Bavasi is a former General Manager of the California Angels and Seattle Mariners and currently works in the Cincinnati Reds front office.

Bavasi got his start in baseball in the San Diego Padres organization. He later was a minor league administrator in the Angels system in 1981 and 1982 and farm director from 1983 to 1990. Next, he was the team's director of player development from 1991 to 1993 and general manager from 1994 to 1999. He was the director of player development for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2002 and 2003 before becoming the Mariners GM on November 7, 2003. He held that position through June 1, 2008. Later that summer, he joined the Reds as vice president of scouting, player development, and international operations, a job he held until 2014. In November of 2014, he moved on to a new challenge as head of the Major League Scouting Bureau, to replace Frank Marcos.

Bavasi's father, Buzzie Bavasi, was General Manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers, L.A. Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and his brother Peter served as GM of the Padres and Toronto Blue Jays. Another brother, Bob Bavasi, owned the Everett AquaSox for over a decade, and a third brother, Chris, served as mayor of Flagstaff, Arizona.
