Right-hander Bill Clemensen spent six active seasons in professional baseball from 1937 to 1947. He also served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II, from 1942 to 1945.

He spent parts of three different seasons (1939, 1941 and 1946) in the major leagues with the Pittsburgh Pirates. During that time period, Bill appeared in a total of 15 games, pitched 42 innings and gave up 39 hits and 31 runs for a career record of 1-1 with a 5.57 ERA.

He had five active seasons in the minor leagues with his best numbers coming in 1937, his first year, when he went 16-10 with a 3.67 ERA while appearing in 30 games for the Hutchinson Larks of the class C Western Association. This was his only season with a winning record.

During his shortened career, Bill was with six different minor league clubs from class C to AAA. He put together 37 wins with 40 losses while appearing in 134 games and pitching 649 innings.

After baseball, and until his retirement, Clemensen was a superintendent for the California Youth Authority for 27 years. He died from a heart attack in Alta, CA at the age of 74.
