Benny Agbayani had good seasons with the 1999 Mets and 2000 Mets, showing some power on teams that won over 90 games each year but finished second. Of his five major league seasons, 2000 was the only year in which he got over 300 at-bats.
Once gave away the ball after out number 2 to a fan.
Primarily wore number 50.
Agbayani was named MVP of the first Asia Series in 2005 after helping the Chiba Lotte Marines to the title.
Born in Hawaii, he is the only major leaguer (as of 2007) to come out of Hawai'i Pacific University. As of 2010, he had returned to the school as an assistant coach.
